After some fun rides this year, I decided
that I like cycling and would like to get a new bike. My old bike needed some work and was very heavy, so it made sense to get a new one. We found this bike at Citybikes Workers' Cooperative in inner SE Portland, and it's a perfect bike for me - a commuter hybrid bike by KHS Bicycles.
We have plans for long bike rides along the Springwater Trail and waterfront, the Bridge Pedal, and parts of the 40-mile loop around the Metro area. Since OHSU is so bike friendly, I'm even considering riding to work some time by taking MAX closer in to town. Maybe someday~
I can't wait to ride!
EVENING UPDATE~ this is the ride i did this evening along Marine drive ~13.5 miles. Such a beautiful sunny day, tons of people were out riding, walking, fishing along the river.

Great new bike! I'm so jealous! I got mine tuned up and new, smaller, thinner kevlar tires, which is great but just made me wish that I had bought a new bike after all that cash. Enjoy the rides! (If you get even a little bit serious about this, you should really think about the Seattle to Portland ride. I did the whole thing on my *really* heavy mountain bike frame and even with some tough spots, it was one of the best rides I've ever been on.
